Hormone Balancing

Our hormone (endocrine) system, along with the nervous system, act together to coordinate all functions of the body.  Although hormones are secreted in tiny quantities, the influence they exert on all bodily systems is great.  This means that small changes in hormone levels can bring about significant shifts in wellbeing.

When we talk of hormones many of us think of the sex hormones oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone.  However, there are over 60 hormones in the body – affecting functions from appetite, metabolism, sleep and immunity.

When operating in perfect health, our endocrine system ensures we enjoy emotional and psychological wellbeing, gastrointestinal health, optimal energy levels, a healthy and regulated blood sugar balance and tolerance to a wide range of foods.

Your nutritional therapist will focus on diet, lifestyle change and, where necessary supplements, to assist and support hormonal balance. Laboratory tests may also provide a deeper insight into your hormonal health.
