What is a Corporate Wellness Programme?

A corporate wellness program is an organised initiative to assist your staff in adopting healthier lifestyles. This may include raising awareness on health and wellbeing topics, behaviour change initiatives and stress management techniques.

We can provide a range of services to help you improve the health and wellbeing of your staff:

Workshops and talks – sessions in small groups to discuss various topics such as eating well in the corporate environment, boosting immunity, weight loss, stress management, food and mood (nutrition for mental health).

Clinic consultations – individual appointments with staff to create nutrition programmes to help them address any health issues that they are experiencing or guidance on health goals they may have. These may be subsidised by the company or paid for by the staff directly – by having us on site, we are able to see a large number of people in a short space of time, keeping disruption in the office to a minimum.

Cafeteria workshops – if your company has an in-house cafeteria, we can work with staff to teach them about constructing healthier menus. We can also carry out nutritional analysis on the menus being served, so you can see if your staff are getting nutritionally balanced meals.

A recent PricewaterhouseCoopers’ study commissioned by the Health Work Wellbeing Executive, entitled Building the case for wellness, illustrates that there is a strong business case for investing in employees’ health.

You can download the Business HealthCheck tool which will assist your company to assess how an investment in health can be rewarding both from a financial perspective and also for staff morale.

Workplace wellness makes commercial sense

- Excerpt from Executive Summary.

Evidence from a review of the available literature and case studies provided by the Health Work Wellbeing Executive supports the idea that wellness programs have a positive impact on intermediate and bottom-line benefits. The intermediate business benefits that the firms in the 55 UK case studies reviewed directly or indirectly linked to their wellness programmes, and the number of reporting organisations making these links are illustrated in the figure to the right.

The available literature suggests that programme costs can quickly be translated into financial benefits, either through cost savings or additional revenue generation, as a consequence of the improvement in a wide range of intermediate business measures.

Quantifiable and significant financial consequences of organisations’ wellness interventions were made available in a number of cases. Most of the financial benefits take the form of cost savings rather than increased income or revenue flows.
